Richard O’Brien is an Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at Northumbria University, and served as Birmingham Poet Laureate from 2018-2020.
Richard is the winner of a 2017 Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors, and his pamphlet publications include A Bloody Mess (Valley Press) and The Dolphin House (Broken Sleep).
His work has appeared in a range of magazines including Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, The White Review, Propel, and The Poetry Review.
