Wallis is an artist and writer although that doesn’t yet pay the bills. In fact, her studio rent actually creates another bill that needs to be paid by her.

Having graduated from Lancaster University, Wallis found herself back in Birmingham after a failed attempt to emigrate to China (she was going for the pandas not the politics). As it happens, Birmingham feels pretty different out the other end of teenage angst, and she’s now staying here to advocate the rich and bountiful arts and culture scene this second city has to offer.
